Office Bearers 2024-25
R.W.M. Bro. Andrew Wallace & Lodge Office Bearers
Saturday 16th November 2024
In 1987 when I had completed my year as R.W.M. I thought I might be able to relax sit in the east and enjoy the degrees. After a few years of relaxing !!!! I was asked if I would like the to become Lodge Secretary, hardly getting time to think about it I was proposed and seconded how could I say no. When our I.P.M. Bro Peter Easton had completed 2 years as R.W.M. he informed the Lodge he would not be going forward for a 3rd year The lodge was in a slight panic as no brother was forthcoming. I was surprised when some of the Past Masters approached me and ask how I would feel going back into the chair after 37 years as R.W.M. To say I was taken aback was an understatement as the last time I was R.W.M. was in 1986 -87 Again in 1601 if you hesitate you are nominated. Finally, the day arrived and yes, I was nervous but with the support of the office bearers, they were soon overcome. I will continue my duties with the same enthusiasm as I have through all my offices and indeed when I was R.W.M. some 37 years ago
I would like to take this opportunity on the Web Site to thank everyone who attended the Installation. I could not say a personal thanks to you all as some of the brethren left immediately after the Installation. I would like to give a big thank you to my Installing Masters Bro.Tom Bambrough P.M. Bro. John McEwen P.M. and Bro. Wallace Allan P.M. for conferring a quite outstanding installation, well done brethren I am very proud and grateful of your achievements. I want to take this opportunity to thank the brethren who travel from various provinces throughout Scotland a sincere thank you to all, for your wonderful support. I would also like to say a sincere thank you to Bro. Alex McAllister who played the bagpipes throughout the Installation Ceremony. I intend to try and visit every lodge of the brethren who attended and say thank you personally for your attendance. I am extremely grateful to all the brethren, who went way beyond the call of duty to make the Installation run smoothly and efficiently. Hopefully I can repay them by making my mother Lodge Lord Bruce 1601 go from strength to strength as so many of the Past Masters have done in previous years. I look forward to welcoming all my Masonic brethren friends, old and new into 1601 and meeting them in my travels over the next 12 months.
